This project meant a lot to me, Ynys Llandwyn is home to where I spent a lot of my childhood, so it was important to capture the nostalgia and warmth within the colour palette. Funny story, I once cried my eyes out of anger, because I got sand in my crocs, so in retaliation I threw them into the sea!

The emphasis on this project is the use of imagery and colour blocks, simulating the idea of the place being ‘forgotten’ visually, hinting to the tourists or natives to view it themselves, rather than a simple image online. I showcased this through foggy paper and colour blocks.
I wanted to use a dual-languages throughout the work, highlighting the culture around Ynys Môn, but prioritising Welsh, as that is the most spoken language on the island. I used a nostalgic and quirky serif, inspired by the typography on historic maritime maps, and paired it with a hyper-legible monospaced typeface, also hinting back to the printed maritime documents.
